THE BRIEF

Carl offers compassionate care via smart phones – making it easier to manage, monitor and maintain your loved one.

With a little help from innovative technology, you get huge benefits as a caregiver. Even your loved one gets easy-to-use tools to interact with family and selected friends via the smart phone. Staying connected is staying healthy.

THE APPROACH

Beginning with a series of research and prototype workshops we focused on unique features that HelloCarl was looking to showcase and provide to public

Infrastructure

Created a custom healthcare system for resilience

HelloCarl infrastructure was built to support a complex system with micro-services to ensure seamless communication between care receivers and caregivers. This includes integrating real-time synchronisation systems, handling user profiles, and delivering consistent updates.

Mobile

We developed Carl Phone and Carl App to address the critical challenges faced by elderly individuals, especially those with cognitive impairments such as dementia. Our goal was to create a seamless, secure, and easy-to-use ecosystem that empowers both care receivers and caregivers through real-time communication, safety features, and intuitive management.

One of the most important aspects of the Carl App is how we leverage Android’s capabilities to provide a downloadable solution that can instantly transform any smartphone into a dementia-friendly communication device

Instant Updates

Real-time functionality

To ensure instant synchronization between caregivers and care receivers, we built a real-time mechanism that enables instant updates across the Carl App and Carl Phone. This architecture allows caregivers to make changes remotely, with updates instantly applied on the care receiver’s device.
